Hello,
This is a blog that will be added to until February 9, 2007. Yesterday was Groundhog Day and I am not sure whether the official groundhog saw his shadow or stayed up and about to anticipate an early spring. In the Boston area, it was cloudy part of the day and sunny part of the day, so we may be in for a lot more winter, or may look forward to an early spring. Last night it snowed a couple of inches in the Boston suburbs, which is news because it has been one of the most snowless winters in history in Boston. Today it is sunny and seasonally cold; not at all like the strange 60 degree weather we had in December. Could this really be global warming, or is it just a strange New England weather pattern, or maybe some of each.
Anyways, February is traditionally the month when we have had some of our biggest snowstorms. We will see how our weather pattern goes this week for this blog.
February in Boston

Global warming has turned into something we just can't ignore anymore....the erratic weather is just the wake up call Bostonians need. I recently participated in a few programs held by Northeastern's Husky Energy Action Team (H.E.A.T)..which included the screening of "An Inconcenient Truth", a movie I feel every one should watch. There were also presentations and talks with two leading Environmental experts. I'm also trying to help organize some programs in the schools dorms, to show the residents how much energy they could save on a daily basis, and do their part to reduce global warming. Hope this issue gets the attention it deserves...
It's hard to think of many issues getting more attention than global warming. But is the attention being turned into action?
I still believe that we'll get dumped on here in Boston at least once before the season ends. If not, than I say we have a serious problem on our hands! On the other hand, I am very happy to have not used my car scrapper yet this year.
I find it too cold here in Boston after being spoiled by December and early January, during which we had autumn-like weather in the 40's, 50's, and even 60's.
I think this global climate change thing is causing extremes in weather patterns. It seesm like lately it's either unseasonably warm or cold.
